Interesting Information about European Trains

Germany
- Besides DB AG, Germany has some nice small lines such as the TEGERNSEE BAHN (TGB) located in Bavaria
and linking Schaftlach to lake Tegern. The line is about 15-20 km long and cross a nice landscape of gentle rolling
hills. It seemsTGB has only rolling stocks, no engines (?). TGB organizes special (steam) trains using its colorful
cars, some of them being unfortunately in pretty bad shape... A recent visit there (1997) was the opportunity to bring
back some pictures shown below. Interestingly, Märklin recently came up with special car sets figuring TGB rolling
stocks in both Z and HO. Careful observation of the pictures given below indicates some differences between models
and prototypes. This is especially true in regards of the HO two-car set which figures a middle-door model which
was not seen either in Schaftlach nor in Tegernsee: easier solution for Märklin (repainting of an available model) or
reality ? I would appreciate having further details on TGB, please contact me:
